vRouted is a route planner for UK B2B distributors running daily multi-drop delivery rounds. You give it the day's stops, your vans and your drivers. It splits the stops across the fleet and sequences each round so that van capacity, customer delivery windows and driver hours are all respected, then hands drivers a run sheet they can follow. It plans rounds from a single depot or from several.
The Problem: Rounds Built by Hand
For a foodservice wholesaler, drinks distributor, bakery, builders' merchant or parts supplier, the day's rounds are often planned by one person who knows the territory: a spreadsheet of orders, a map, and a lot of memory. It works until it doesn't. A new customer with a tight delivery window, a van off the road, or a driver on a shorter shift means re-planning the whole day by hand. Nobody can easily check whether yesterday's plan was any good.
The constraints are what make it hard. Ordering stops by shortest distance is a solved problem. The difficulty is doing it while every van stays under its capacity, every customer gets their delivery inside their window, and no driver goes past their shift, across the whole fleet at once.
What vRouted Does
- Imports from a spreadsheet. Stops come in from a spreadsheet, one row per round with addresses in the columns that follow. A template and a sample file are available to try without an account.
- Optimises against all constraints at once. Each round is sequenced against capacity, hard delivery windows, and driver shift and maximum-hour limits.
- Plans the whole fleet together. The day's stops are assigned across every vehicle by capacity in one pass, rather than one round at a time. Multi-depot planning is on the Pro plan.
- Uses your own units. Vehicle capacity is set in whatever you actually load, such as cages, pallets or kg, alongside each vehicle's running cost and working-hour limits.
- Exports run sheets. Each optimised round exports as a printable PDF with a Google Maps link for every stop. Drivers don't need to install an app.
- Estimates miles, time and cost. Every round shows estimated mileage, drive time and cost, with history kept for day-over-day comparison.
- Exposes a REST API. The web app runs on the same documented API that's available to customers, so planning can be wired into existing order systems.
What It Deliberately Doesn't Do
A planning tool that oversells itself costs a distributor more than one that's honest about its limits. vRouted plans the day's rounds before the vans leave. It is not a telematics or proof-of-delivery system, and it doesn't claim to be:
- No live GPS tracking of vans
- No driver app, in-app messaging or proof of delivery
- No re-routing of vans already on the road
- No calculation of legal drivers' hours breaks. You set shift limits per driver, and vRouted plans within them.
- No satnav-accurate arrival times. Miles and times are estimates for comparing one plan against another.
If you already run a tracking or ePOD system, vRouted sits in front of it as the planning step. If you don't, a printed run sheet with map links is often all a multi-drop round needs.
vRouted vs. Route+
Both products route vehicles, but they work on different parts of the day. vRouted plans rounds before anyone sets off. Route+ picks up after that, fitting new same-day orders into routes that are already being driven.
| vRouted | Route+ | |
|---|---|---|
| When it works | Before the vans leave | While routes are running |
| Core job | Sequence the day's multi-drop rounds across the fleet | Insert same-day orders into live routes |
| Typical user | UK B2B distributor running daily rounds | Large fleets with time-critical same-day demand, such as pharmacy and NHS |
| How you start | Self-serve, 14-day free trial | Demo and integration with your systems |
Pricing
At the time of writing, vRouted has four plans. Starter covers up to 3 vehicles with core optimisation, delivery windows, spreadsheet import and run-sheet export. Growth is priced per vehicle (minimum 5) and adds vehicle capacity constraints, driver hours and scheduling, and route analytics. Pro adds multi-depot planning and priority support. Enterprise adds custom integrations and an on-premise deployment option. Annual billing is 20% cheaper than monthly. Current prices are on vrouted.ai/pricing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between vRouted and Anteam Route+?
vRouted plans a distributor's multi-drop rounds before the vans leave the depot, against capacity, delivery windows and driver hours. Route+ works on routes already running, inserting same-day orders into them in real time. vRouted does not re-route vans already on the road.
Do drivers need an app to use vRouted?
No. vRouted exports each round as a printable run sheet with a Google Maps link for every stop, so drivers can follow it without installing anything.
How much does vRouted cost?
Self-serve plans start with Starter for up to 3 vehicles, then Growth and Pro are priced per vehicle per month, with Enterprise on custom pricing. Every self-serve plan has a 14-day free trial with no card needed up front. Current prices are listed at vrouted.ai/pricing.
Does vRouted track vans live or calculate legal drivers' hours breaks?
No. vRouted has no live GPS tracking, driver app or proof of delivery, and it doesn't calculate legal drivers' hours breaks. You set shift and maximum-hour limits per driver, and vRouted plans rounds within them.
Try It on a Real Day
The quickest way to judge a route planner is to give it a day you've already planned by hand and compare the two. Start a free vRouted trial with your own stops, or get in touch if your fleet needs live same-day insertion as well.
